Jaime Torres, the son of wine-growers from the Penedes, emigrated to Cuba in 1855, where he worked at a well-known general store. His brother Miguel would send him wine and typical Catalan products from the port of Barcelona, which Jaime would offer to newly-arrived emigrants on a long table. Tapas and glasses of wine with which to ward off his own homesickness.
In 1870 the two brothers founded Bodegas Torres.
Today, that long table to share the passion for wine, family, friends and new arrivals has been recovered in Barcelona. Today the circle has closed. On the Paseo de Gracia. In the Vinoteca Torres.
